Peewee A Falcons beat Everett

The Falcons are off to a terrific start compiling an 11-1 record so far this season with a complete thrashing of Everett Sunday morning scoring 11 times. Mike Allain put forth another strong effort in net knocking down eight shots on net to earn the shutout.

The defense completely shut down Everett limiting scoring opportunities. Dan Arnold made a nice breakup at the blue line to deflect the puck outside the zone. His partner, Luke Sutherland had tremendous presence on the ice playing smart two way hockey and was a force keeping the puck inside the offensive zone. Taylor Brown made a terrific play catching up with a potential breakaway skater and knocking him off the puck. Line mate Tom Conway played solid defense and also got involved in the scoring with two assists. Kevin St. Pierre and Zach Ryan were both a force making several great defensive plays to prevent shots on net. While the defense was absolutely stifling, the offense was taking full advantage of the mismatches.

Jason Carucci led all scores with his first hat trick of the young season. Chris Kontos, Will Walfiled and Joe Szela each got two goals, and Kyle Larson and DJ Yost each got a goal apiece. Eight different players earned assists including three assists by Larson, two each by Brad Vautour, Conway, Walfield and Carucci, and assists by Yost, Szela and Pat McBride. The Falcon offense was very strong creating numerous scoring opportunities and let off a remarkable 67 shots on net pelting the Everett Goalie. Derek Witwicki made a tremendous rush up ice off a pass from McBride splitting two defensemen for a shot on net. Szela was noted for a bone crunching check early in the game that set the early tempo.

Each line passed the puck extremely well and was able to move the puck around easily to the open skater for the shot. It was another great team effort that helped propel the Falcons to victory.
